The Assistant Operations Manager (Housekeeping) supports the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards, maintaining inventory, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth department functioning and guest satisfaction.
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of housekeeping supervisory experience, preferably in a hotel or large facility.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and health & safety standards.
- Proficient with housekeeping management systems and MS Office tools.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Assist in managing daily housekeeping operations including room cleaning, public areas, and laundry.
- Supervise, train, and schedule housekeeping staff to maintain quality standards.
- Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance compliance.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities; place orders as needed.
- Coordinate with maintenance and front office for timely room readiness.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of housekeeping staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Handle guest complaints or special requests professionally.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
- Fill in for Housekeeping Manager during absences.
