We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our financial firm in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Arabic language proficiency is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ZOHO, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Manage accounts receivable, including sending invoices, following up on overdue payments, and processing collections.
- Prepare and submit tax filings.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Assist with audits and manage inventory accounting.
- Handle petty cash and other cash management duties.
- Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
- Assist in the development of financial plans and strategies to support business growth.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Recommend solutions to improve financial performance and efficiency.
Skills Required
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including V-lookups and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in a service-oriented accounting firm managing multiple clients is advantageous.
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software.
