A reputed company in Abu Dhabi is hiring a GL Accountant to ensure accuracy in general ledger and financial reporting, supporting month-end close and compliance functions.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- Professional progress such as ACCA, CMA, or CPA is an advantage.
- ERP proficiency (Microsoft Business Central preferred).
- Strong Excel skills; Power Query/Power BI knowledge is a plus.
- Solid understanding of IFRS, UAE VAT, and inventory accounting.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Prepare and post journals for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and provisions.
- Reconcile bank, AP, AR, intercompany, GRNI, and inventory subledgers.
- Close month-end on schedule; prepare trial balance and variance analysis.
- Maintain chart of accounts and cost centers with posting controls.
- Review VAT output/input and ensure timely filing of returns.
- Support audits with reconciliations, lead schedules, and documentation.
- Coordinate with procurement, stores, and payroll teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in budgeting and cash-flow forecasting.
