Project Architect position available in Qatar with strong experience in statutory authority submissions and approvals, specifically with MMUP (Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning).
Experience
10–15 years of architectural experience, including a minimum of 3+ years in Qatar
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- MMUP certification preferred
Responsibilities and Requirements
Design & Technical
- Lead conceptual stages for architectural projects
- Coordinate architectural designs with consultants including structural, MEP, ID, landscape, and others
- Develop architectural drawings, presentations, and documentation using AutoCAD and Photoshop
- Ensure designs comply with Qatar building codes, regulations, and best practices
Statutory Approvals (MMUP & Other Authorities)
- Prepare, review, and submit documents and applications to MMUP and other Qatar authorities
- Manage the full permitting and approval process
- Maintain updated knowledge of Qatar planning and building regulations
- Liaise with authorities to resolve technical comments and obtain approvals
Project Coordination
- Manage schedules related to design deliverables and permitting timelines
- Attend coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities
- Monitor progress and report risks, delays, or required design changes
- Ensure quality control of all design outputs
Site & Execution Support
- Support site teams during construction to clarify design intent
- Review shop drawings and material submittals for compliance
- Conduct site inspections as required
Technical Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, and MS Office
